Megan & Darrian's Wedding
Before the wedding, they shared that they love adventure. Whether they're riding, camping, traveling, or simply experiencing life together, they wanted their wedding to feel natural and true to who they are. They also emphasized how important it was to photograph not only the two of them, but their grandparents, extended family, and all of the kids celebrating alongside them.
The day began with morning preparations surrounded by friends and family. Rather than focusing on elaborate details, the goal was to document the excitement, laughter, and candid interactions that naturally unfolded while everyone got ready. Before the ceremony, Megan and Darrian shared a private first look outside. These quiet moments offered an opportunity to slow down before the day moved into the celebration with family and guests. With nearly 300 guests and a wedding party of 20, the day was filled with meaningful interactions at every turn. One of my priorities throughout the day was documenting not only the scheduled events but also the moments happening in between.
Conversations between generations, hugs from grandparents, children playing, proud parents watching from a distance, and friends celebrating together often become some of the most meaningful photographs years later. Following the ceremony, everyone gathered for family portraits before the couple took time for portraits together just south of the venue. The location provided a timeless backdrop that kept the focus exactly where it belonged: on the two of them. The reception continued with dinner, cake cutting, first dances, parent dances, and time spent celebrating with the people who have supported them throughout their lives.
Wedding photographs become more valuable with each passing year, especially the images that include multiple generations together. Those are often the photographs families treasure the most.
