JADE MADE WEDDINGS
A WHIPPOORWILL ACRES WEDDING FILM
Lancaster, Missouri, Whippoorwill Acres created the perfect backdrop for a wedding that blended boho, western, and elegant elements into one seamless vision. Open skies. Soft October light. Neutral tones mixed with earthy textures. It was the kind of setting that didn’t compete for attention… it elevated everything happening within it.
High school sweethearts. A season apart. And then… finding their way back to each other. There’s something deeper about a love like that. It’s not rushed. It’s not surface-level. It’s chosen—fully and intentionally. You could feel it in every interaction. Every glance. Every quiet moment throughout the day.
The day began at Whippoorwill Acres, where everything unfolded naturally and without pressure.
- 12:30 PM – Photo and video coverage began
- 1:00 PM – Getting ready
- 1:30 PM – First looks + private vows
Katelyn shared a first look with her dad—one of those moments that hits you right in the chest.
Then came the first look with her groom.
Outdoors, with nothing but open air around them, they read private vows to each other.
No audience. No distractions. Just them. These are the moments that define a wedding film.
At 4:30 PM, guests gathered for the ceremony. With around 350 people in attendance, the space was full—but the moment still felt incredibly personal. Some of the most meaningful footage came from the in-between reactions: The groom’s expression as she walked down the aisle, bridesmaids holding back tears, groomsmen sharing quiet smiles and glances.
It’s never just about the couple… It’s about everyone who’s been part of their story getting to witness this chapter.
Every couple has moments they don’t want to miss—and for Katelyn and her groom, three stood out:
- The Ceremony
- First Look & Private Vows
- First Dance
But one additional moment carried a deeper emotional weight:
A bouquet dedication to her mom.
A pause in the celebration. A moment of remembrance. A reminder that love doesn’t leave—it just changes form. The reception began at 6:00 PM, shifting the day from emotional to electric.
Highlights included:
- Toasts from the Maid of Honor and Best Man
- Cake cutting
- A packed dance floor full of energy and connection
And of course… the first dance. The kind where everything else fades out, and for a few minutes, it’s just the two of them in their own world. This day wasn’t about perfection.
It was about presence. It was soft and emotional… but also grounded and real. It was thoughtfully planned… but never felt forced. Most of all, it was a reminder that: Love doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. It just has to be chosen—again and again.
Cheers!
