April 5th, 2025 — a date the wind did not forget. Set against the rustic charm of the Countryside Event Center, this country wedding blew in with a breeze and a whole lotta heart.
375 guests gathered, boots on and ready, for a celebration that was as heartfelt as it was hoppin’. Between first looks that had us all misty-eyed and a cord of three strands ceremony that braided faith into forever, this day was stitched together with sentiment and a little bit of windproof hairspray.
Speaking of which — let’s talk glam.
Hair: done to perfection (and somehow held against the Iowa gusts) by Rielee
Makeup: soft glam with staying power, thanks to the team at Kiss and Make Up
Photography dream duo: Brenda Vette Photography & Shookem Photo + Co (Emily Shook)
Florals: delicate meets country-chic from Willowboutique
Catering: hearty helpings by Kevin Kimmerling
Cake + sweets: shoutout to OMG Cakes and Treats and those dangerously good cheesecake cupcakes
Music + lighting: brought to life by DJ and Lights — and yes, there was a proper polka showdown at the reception
But let’s get to the real showstoppers:
The vows: pure poetry (and a must-watch moment)
Golden hour: the wind calmed just enough to let love glow in that buttery light
The polka dancing: If your uncle didn’t lose a boot doing a spin, were you even at a Midwest wedding?
Capturing their day on film felt like bottling up joy with a touch of country twang. From teary-eyed first looks to spinning lace dresses and grandma two-stepping like it’s 1983 — this is the kind of love story I live to tell.
Note to future brides: Wind or not, love always finds the light — and we’ll make sure to catch every golden second of it on camera.
